Are you ready to track your moods, periods, and habits? This is the ultimate guide to minimalist mood trackers, habit trackers, and period trackers. Why you need them, inspiration on how to create them, and videos that you can follow along with to re-create them.
What is a minimalist mood tracker?
This year I have kept two Bullet Journals one of which is made in a minimalist style. I love how easy it is to see everything on my page, keep track of where I need to be, and how easy it is to create! I would recommend a minimalist-style bullet journal for any first-time bujo’s. It allows you to learn the basics and then get more creative as you go along.
A mood tracker allows you to ‘track your mood’. You can note down if you are happy, sad, annoyed or sleepy. All emotions are important and it is interesting to see when you are feeling which way. Your moods can be effected by all sorts of things including the weather, the moon cycles and your hormonal cycle. I don’t use a mood tracker every month but maybe once every three months, I will add one to my bullet journal so that I can monitor my moods. A mood tracker allows me to check in with myself and practise some self care.
“Self Care is the practise of taking action to preserve or improve one’s own health.“
My Minimalistic mood tracker is really easy to re-create and you could also use it as a habit tracker. Let’s find our what a habit tracker is.
WHAT is a HABIT TRACKER?
A habit tracker is where you can track your healthy habits. I add a habit tracker to all of my monthly spreads. Some of the habits I track are –
- A daily walk
- Meditation
- Get 8 hours sleep
I change some of them monthly but also keep my main ones each months. A habit tracker helps me to establish new healthy habits and stick to them. I added reading more this year and set myself a total number of books, so far I have been keeping up with my targets. Being able to check off that I have done my habits and kept up with them is something I really enjoy.
Like anything even a habit tracker is a habit! To receive any benefit from it, you have to use it. I check mine in the morning and add anything on it to do daily to-do list and then I check at night and tick it all off! I go to bed feeling like I have achieved something everyday which is really great for my overall wellbeing.
WHAT IS A PERIOD TRACKER?
A period tracker allows you to track your cycle. Tracking your cycle allows you some control and it also allows you to plan your months better. The week before your period is typically when your body requires more rest and when your moods fluctuate. If you are tacking your cycle you will know when this week is arriving and can work around it. Maybe you could work less that month or spend more time sleeping.
I find that my period tracker works best when I also have my mood tracker. I can then monitor my mood fluctuations as well as my cycle. Often my moods make so much more sense after! A period tracker is really easy to make and is so much easier to use than an app on your phone.
VIDEO – 5 WAY’S TO MAKE A HABIT TRACKER.
My video shows you how to make 5 different styles of habit tracker. Each is unique and different. Once you learn how to make the style, you can customise it yourself to fit your style of Bullet Journal. If you need any inspiration I always search on Pinterest or on Instagram.
MY MARCH PERIOD TRACKER.
I really love my March period tracker in my travel themed Bullet Journal. My travel bullet journal is made more in a maximalist style. For any of my journals, minimalist or maximalist, I use the same techniques and equipment. I just add more colour and more paintings to my maximalist spreads. You can see how I made this months period tracker above.

I hope these images of my spreads offer you some #inspiration and that you create them at home yourself. To help you re-create them read my handwriting tutorial here.
habit tracker
This is the first time I have created a habit tracker in this style. I made each habit into an individual month so I can cross off each habit/day as I complete them! I have put my habits as meditation, morning walk, waking up early, taking meals on time, cleaning and reading. To created the spread I used pencils, white gel pen, my black pointy pen and my watercolours! I really loved the way it turned out and then my period tracker is on the opposite page. It is fun to have the same types of trackers close to each other.
period tracker.
I kept my period tracker really simple. The equipment I used is the same as above. I made a monthly calendar and when the times comes I will cross out the days so that I can keep track. I used the same colours theme as my habit tracker which is based on Bali.
minimalist mood tracker.
I created this mood tracker in February. I made 28 boxes, one for each day of February, and can colour them in each morning or evening. I use my watercolours to colour in each box or a simple felt tip market if I don’t have much time. Looking back and seeing what my mood is like in a month really helps me.
creating trackers.
I hope that you found my ultimate guide to creating a minimalist mood tracker and habit tracker helpful. I added in the period tracker because I though you might find it handy to have it all in one blog. The videos are also really helpful especially if you are just starting out.
